Crafting an Individual Development Plan (IDP): Self Assessment/IDP Workshop for Postdocs and Graduate Students.
Speaker: Keith Micoli, PhD. NYU Postdoctoral Program Manager.
Facilitated by Dr. Keith Micoli, this workshop will provide guidance to postdocs and graduate students on how to craft an Individual Development Plan (IDP) and why it is important for their career development. The workshop will also address such issues as how to get your PI involved and how to evaluate your progress via an annual review. The session will include a discussion and distribution of specific materials to facilitate this process. Note that the workshop will be held on three days to accommodate everyone's schedules, please register for the day you can attend or you are more than welcome to attend all three days.

Putting Your Degree to Work: Practical Strategies for PhDs.
Speaker: Peter Fiske, PhD. Author of "Put Your Science to Work: A Take Charge Career Guide for Scientists" and columnist for the AAAS ScienceCareers website.
Dr. Peter Fiske will present a practical career workshop focusing on the essential strategies and skills to help postdocs get the careers they want from where they are now.

NYU Postdoc Info Session & Orientation

Join us at this orienation if you are a new postdoc. This orienation will help to familiarize new postdocs to the many resources available here to them at NYU and they will be introduced to the people, besides their faculty mentor, who are here to help them as they make the transition to an independent scientist or science-trained professional. Money Management for Scientists
