NYU stroke doctors and medical personnel strive to prevent death and reduce disability from stroke by providing rapid diagnosis and effective intervention to stroke victims via a core group of professionals representing the various medical specialties that play critical roles in stroke care, including the EMS, the emergency department, radiology, neurology, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, psychiatry, intensive care, rehabilitation, specialty trained nursing and other allied healthcare providers.
